We had our first American Aberdeen calf today! Read my “Aberdeens” post to learn what an Aberdeen is as well as why in the world a Miniature Hereford ranch has a bunch of black cows running around. NGA “Diesel” Jack 1G was born to our Aberdeen cow “Anna” at about 2 p.m. today. He weighed 56 lbs and was up and walking within about 45 minutes. New calves are the most enjoyable part of having a cattle operation!
